Washing Sheepskin
- Hand Washing: Hand washing is preferred over machine washing to avoid damaging the leather.
- Preparing a Bath: Fill a cool bath with water no higher than 30°C (86°F).
- Washing: Submerge the sheepskin and gently agitate it to remove dirt.
- Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with cool water to remove all soap.
We are often asked about washing sheepskin in a machine. While possible, we recommend hand washing in cool water. This gentler method reduces the risk of the leather shrinking and better preserves the sheepskin.
However, if you choose to machine wash then ensure to use a gentle wool cycle. Please note we cannot be responsible for any damage to sheepskin from machine washing.
