Sheepskin can be a truly sustainable gifting choice when sourced responsibly. But how does it measure up ethically?
By selecting fleece from free-roaming flocks rather than intensively farmed animals, we make the most of a natural by-product. In fact, sheepskin is often discarded—over 95% of it is simply destroyed as waste from the meat industry. Choosing to buy and gift sheepskin gives this beautiful, natural material a renewed purpose, preventing it from going to waste. Plus, many suppliers now use eco-friendly tanning and vegetable-based dyes, and all our baby-safe sheepskins are chrome-free.
