How much do people spend on a baby shower gift?

Over half (51.7%) of respondents said they usually spend between £25 and £50 on a baby shower gift, with 46.5% keeping things under £25. Just 1% said they spend more than £100.

What this tells us

The £25–£50 range has perhaps become the unofficial standard: high enough to feel considered, but still within reach. This is a helpful benchmark for anyone unsure how much to spend on baby shower gifting. And if you’re the one managing the gift-giving group chat - this might be a helpful statistic to share!

Most people would rather club together

70.7% of people said they’d rather club together to buy one gift. 29.3% prefer to buy on their own.

What this tells us

The group gift is in. People like pooling budgets to give something special. It’s less about volume, more about value. So if you’re in the WhatsApp group wondering if it’s okay to suggest a joint gift - it is. Most people might be thinking the same thing.  Our luxury sheepskin pram liners and larger gift sets make thoughtful, long-lasting gifts that work especially well for shared gifting.

Practical baby shower gifts come out on top

84.5% of people said they go for practical over keepsake baby shower gifts. Only 15.5% chose keepsakes as their preference.
Note - by keepsakes, we mean gifts that are more decorative or sentimental than functional - things like engraved photo frames, personalised memory boxes, or ceramic ornaments.

What this tells us

There’s a clear preference for things that get used. Gifts that make life easier, softer, more manageable for new parents. Keepsakes are lovely - but most people want to give something that earns its place in the daily routine. Our focus has always been on natural materials and timeless practicality - booties that stay on, comforters that soothe, sheepskin liners that soften every journey.
